| #43: June 16th, 2011 - Deck Lid Repair and Prep... After getting the deck lid back from Blast Masters, i needed to do some repairs to it. Somewhere in it's past, a new hole had been drilled in the face for the mounting of the lock cylinder. This was a simple enough repair. I made a plug for the hole from some sheet metal and welded it into place.   | ||

the entire deck lid was thoroughly sanded. I used a DA sander with a
200 grit disc on the outside of the lid and a red 3M ScotchBrite pad on
the underside. Rust spots were removed via Purple Power Rust Remover
and/or a 80 grit wheel on the die grinder. Several coats of Metal-Etch primer were applied after the deck lid was clean, smooth and rust-free.       | ||
And finally, the seams on the deck lid are masked-off and Eastwood beige seam-sealer is applied.    | ||
