#73: July 16th, 2012 - Installing Wiring, Speakers and Glass...
I
started out by installing the main body wiring harness. I purchased a
NOS harness from Boudurant Driving School a couple of years ago when
they were cleaning out their stock of Mustang spare parts, along with
some other parts. | ||
Next
up was the installation of the Mach 460 speaker enclosure and
amplifiers under the rear deck. It is considerably easier to put this
in now, while there is no glass in the rear window. However, before I
could install it, I replaced all the speakers with newer 'tested' Mach
460 speakers that I purchased on eBay.
Gator
Glass is responsible for providing the front windshield and trim and
installing it and the rear window and trim that I provided. The rear
glass is the same one I removed from the car. It was in good shape, so
there was no reason not to use it. I did have to pickup new upper and
lower trim for the glass. The parts department at Delray Lincoln took
care of me for them. As always, Gator Glass did a great job. He scuffed the channel and primed it. I had the spacer blocks for the rear glass, and they had the ones for the front. (This is about the 6th or 7th time I have used them for glass install) I put in the side quarter glass, using ribbon seal, that Gator left me. Now I am one step closer to being able to seal up the interior and have somewhat of a chance to keep it clean.
